OBJECTIVE: The children will learn the benefits of meditating on God’s Word

INTEREST BUILDER Prep talk: Benefits of meditating on the Word of God

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES: Psalm 1:1-2; 119:148; 1Timothy 4:13-15; Joshua 1:8

MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 119:130

Parent/ Guardian ask; Hello kids! “What was the topic of last week lesson?” (Kindly allow the children to respond and acknowledge each child’s participation). “Meditating on the Word of God” was the topic for last week. (Teacher briefly discuss highlights on previous topic to refresh the children’s understanding)

Parent/ Guardian says; The topic for today is, “Benefits Of Meditating On The Word Of God”.

LESSON SUMMARY

Meditation will make you wise. (2 Corinthians 3:5). Meditation helps you deal wisely in your affairs-academics, family, relationship and other responsibilities. It will cause your progress to be evident to all and conditions the environment of your life to be fruitful and productive (Psalm 1:1-3). It delivers to you a life of uncommon grace, favour and greatness (1 Corinthians 2:9-13). Hallelujah!

Meditation drives the Word of God into your spirit. It takes the Word from your mind into your spirit. When you study the Word of God, it enters your mind, but when you meditate on it, it takes the Word from your mind into your spirit. In your mind, you can still reason out the Word of God; but when it gets to your spirit, it becomes real and personal to you. That Word may not have any scientific explanation, but you just know that it is a reality, and nothing can take it from you.

Being successful in life depends on what happens in your spirit (Proverbs 4:23). It is important that you train your spirit with God’s Word for it to be your sure guide for life. You are in a world filled with negative voices of failure, weakness, wickedness and sickness, but as long as you store God’s Word in your heart richly, you will be able to shun those negative thoughts (2 Corinthians 10:5).

One way you can achieve this, is by meditation or muttering God’s Word to yourself. When you mutter or roar the Word, you talk your spirit up and drown all negative thoughts coming to your mind. Pastor Chris said, “I first learnt to do this as a teenager many years ago: I’d sometimes get into my dad’s car in the garage, just to be alone in a quiet place and there meditate”. This is something you need to do often: Learn to lock yourself away in a private place so as not to disturb others and then shout the Word until you completely drown every negative thought of fear, unbelief or failure. Hallelujah!

Another powerful benefit of meditation, is that it will make you the Word! This is God’s purpose for giving you His Word, so we would become the Word. As you practice meditating consistently on God’s Word, you find that you will begin to think, talk, and act like God. Your whole life will become a reflection of the Word. When this happens, it will be impossible for any sickness to remain in your body, because the Word would have permeated your entire body system and taken charge of your being. Understand that the Word has the divine energy to affect everything about your life including your physical body. Proverbs 4:22 says, “For they (the Word) are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh”.

Meditation will cause you to do the Word of God. The Word has power; you do not need to struggle to do the word. There will be times when our hearts do not feel like meditating on the Word of God. During these moments, the temptation is to stop reading, lose focus, and move on to other activities. Do not give in to such temptation, because in meditating on the Word lies your strength. Meditation is also a key to exhorting our hearts to delight in God’s Word, which is necessary for our spiritual strength and joy!

Meditation gives you Rhema. Rhema is the spoken Word of God, it is the “now” Word of God for your situation, and you receive it by meditating on the written Word. It has the ability to produce results in you and to deliver an inheritance to you. There may be a condition in your body that you desire a change, find somewhere you can be alone and meditate on God’s Word. You may not feel like it; especially when your body is telling you something different, but do it. The Word is sure to prevail over that situation, and cause you to walk in victory always.

Now that you know the benefits of meditation, what scriptures are you meditating on today? Encourage your kid/ ward to pick a Bible Book and chapter for study. Guide him/her to take the book through

MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 119:130 ESV “The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple”.

CONFESSION: Dear Father, I thank you for showing me the benefits of having your Word in my spirit. Your Word fills my heart now and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

The Year of Lights has been a glorious one for the CEPH Zone 3 Children’s Ministry.

The CEPH Zone 3 Children’s Ministry, in line with the theme for the year, organized different outreaches reaching 18 Schools, 9 Orphanages, 7 Inner-city Communities, and 4 Hospitals; distributing our Kiddies Materials, Food and other relief items. These outreaches were a most reassuring and ‘Hope Come True’ moment for the Children reached as our Kids went further to pray for them, minister to them and got them born again.

The Children’s Ministry of Christ Embassy Port Harcourt Zone 3 held 38 Outreaches, reaching 12,421 children with the Kiddies materials with over 3,234 souls won.

Through our Neighbourhood Evangelism Campaign and the LoveWorld Childrens Bible Club (LCBC) held in about 32 locations in PortHarcourt including some Inner-City Communities.  Over 5,946 Children were reached through our LoveWorld Bible Club during the Summer Holidays.

This had a great impact on the Children especially in the area of soul winning and as a result, many of the Children are now passionate about soul winning. even in their classes and school environment.

The Cell Ministry Day held every month and was always an opportunity to celebrate the evangelical efforts of the kids and all the souls won in the month. In addition, 878 new Children joined the Cell System. Presently, we have 75 Cells with our Children as Cell Leaders and Executives across our Children Churches in the Zone.  15 new cells leaders were incorporated and  trained for greater exploits. 328 Children were baptized and it was a very significant moment for the children as they went through a 6-weeks Foundation School training session where they were taught prior to their baptism on the significance and essence of Baptism.

In celebration of the Children’s Day in the month of May, the Children’s Ministry organized ‘Light of the World’ with Pastor Joy, our Esteemed Zonal Director at the Port-Harcourt Pleasure Park on Saturday 25^th May 2019. This special fun outreach reached out to over 2,782 kids in the park.

The children took the Gospel to the unsaved, visiting locations with free copies of the Kiddies Rhapsody and distributing tracts to their peers, leading several of them to Christ. Hundreds of children at Dayspring Infant and Junior School were also blessed with free copies of the Kiddies Rhapsody, distributed during the Easter School Outreach, which they began to study with so much delight.

On Easter Sunday, many children gathered with their guests in all children’s churches in for a Special Easter Fiesta, an amazing time of exciting games, fun activities, sumptuous meals and drinks and lovely Easter gifts to take home. The LoveWorld Children’s Ministry in the zone also organized an Easter Holiday Maths and Music Club, where the kids learned how to solve mathematical problems and play several musical instruments, as taught by seasoned instructors.

It was a fun-filled Easter, which presented a unique opportunity for the kids to influence the lives of other children with the saving power of the Gospel.

The year kicked off with over 80 children church Coordinators/Teachers across the Zone participating in the Children’s Ministry Training Program organize by the HQ.

The Children Ministry had special Outreaches, reaching Schools, Orphanages, Inner-city Communities and Hospitals; distributing our Kiddies materials, Food and other relief items. So far, we have had 31 Outreaches with 437 souls won.

We had our Cell Ministry day and over 404 new Children have joined the Cell System. Presently, we have 63 Cells with our Children as Cell Leaders and Executives across our Children Churches in the Zone.

Other programs included

• The Pastors, Parents and Teachers Forum with our Esteemed Zonal Director
• The Math’s and Music Club program which held during the Easter Break
• The 1^st quarter assessment which saw all the children doing excellently well in their assessments.
• CEPH3 Children’s Day Celebrations was a 2 –day event with 5,220 children in attendance.
